Dr. Yamada is a skilled and compassionate general surgeon with over 18 years of experience in providing high-quality surgical and trauma care. Specializing in minimally invasive and robotic-laparoscopic surgery, Dr. Yamada is a member of the Midwest Institute of Robotic Surgery at Silver Cross Hospital, a leader in robotic surgery in Illinois.

Education & Training
Dr. Yamada arrived from Japan and was raised in Evanston, Illinois. After earning a degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University, he completed a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering at Harvard University. He later pursued his medical degree at the University of Illinois, where he also completed his general surgery residency. His engineering background enhances his expertise in applying advanced technologies to surgery for improved patient outcomes.

Clinical Expertise & Service
With a focus on minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Yamada performs complex procedures with precision, resulting in faster recovery and less discomfort for his patients. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he supported ICU teams, providing critical care such as intubations and dialysis access.

Global Outreach
Dr. Yamada has also traveled abroad on charitable surgical missions to Haiti and the Dominican Republic, helping underserved communities in need of medical care.
